Introducing Professional Business: Inventory, Barcodes & Sales Tracking
General Business accounts can now upgrade to Professional Business — unlocking a full inventory management system, Code128 barcode generation, a barcode sales scanner, automated receipts, and usage-based billing.
Today we're launching Professional Business — a premium tier for General Business accounts on mysmartaccesscard. If your business sells physical products, manages stock, or needs a point-of-sale scanner, this is for you.
What's included
Inventory Management
Add, edit, and delete products with full details — name, price, quantity, shelf location, category, and low-stock thresholds. Stock levels update automatically after every sale.
Code128 Barcode Generation
Every product gets a unique barcode auto-generated on creation. Download it as a PNG or print it directly to label your physical stock.
Barcode Sales Scanner
Scan product barcodes with your phone camera to build a cart. Supports multiple items, quantity adjustment, and automatic tax calculation.
Receipts & Sales History
Every completed sale produces a printable receipt and a PDF download. Sales history is logged with the employee name, date, items, and totals.
How billing works
Professional Business uses usage-based billing on top of your regular subscription:
- ₦2 per barcode generated — charged once per product when it is first added to inventory.
- ₦1 per item sold — charged per unit sold through the scanner (not per transaction).
- Charges accumulate monthly and reset at the start of each new calendar month.
Usage is tracked transparently in your Subscription tab. You can see barcode charges, sales charges, and total monthly usage at any time. To downgrade back to Basic Business, all outstanding usage charges for the current month must be cleared first.
Low-stock alerts
Set a threshold per product. When remaining stock hits or falls below that threshold, the product is flagged in the Alerts tab. Out-of-stock products are blocked from being added to a cart automatically — your staff won't be able to sell stock that doesn't exist.
Employee accountability
Every sale is logged with the name, ID, and role of the employee who processed it. Super-admins and admins can view the full sales history, filtered by date or employee.
How to activate
Professional Business is activated by a super-admin from the Subscription tab of your Business Dashboard. Once active, two new tabs appear — Inventory and Sales — accessible to all staff and employees. The upgrade banner also appears on your Overview tab.
